2025 has been another record breaking year for Gino winning 2 x 1st Nationals, 9 x 1st Provincials and 59 x 1st prizes !!!<\/p>\n
Although scoring at the top in the Middle and Long Distance National racing, this family of pigeons are certainly good for all distances \u2026 winning 1st prizes from the beginning of the season to the end.<\/p>\n
The collection of National Ace Pigeons, National winners and Zonal\/Provincial stars of Gino Clicque is immense. Pigeons such as Piraat, Super Prince, Golden Prince and Prince Rudy have a legendary status that reaches far beyond the Belgian border. New generations of National Ace Pigeons have kept Gino at the top \u2026 the most noteworthy achievements in 2022 are the 1st Int. Agen Yearlings against 16,932 b and 1st Fastest Libourne against 6,309 b and another DOUBLE NATIONAL WIN in 2025 with 1st National Souillac 4,577 b and 1st National Cahors 5,226 b.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve been involved in the pigeon sport for many years (too many to mention), and have lived and raced both in the UK and Belgium with my late partner, Martyn Mitchell.\u00a0 We lived approx 10 km north of Gino.\u00a0 To compete in the same clubs as the top Belgian fanciers was the ultimate for us.\u00a0\u00a0Competing against the best – if you\u2019re scoring high there, you know you\u2019re doing more than ok, and we did!\u00a0 At that time, and still now, Rekkem was the club to race in \u2026 if you were 1st Club there, chances were you were 1st Provincial and 1st National \u2026 it\u2019s where the legend Gaby Vandenabeele raced, along with many other top names including Gino.<\/p>\n
Gino still races from the original lofts of his father in Wevelgem, although they\u2019ve been extended and modernised.\u00a0\u00a0His main racing lofts are based on the design of our own lofts in Belgium – built by Gino!\u00a0\u00a0It incorporates a system of ventilation which Martyn spent many years researching.\u00a0\u00a0Built from wood with a cavity and wood lining to control temperatures, no expense was ever spared to ensure a top environment for the pigeons.\u00a0\u00a0Pent tiled roof and extraction provided the best air quality for the birds.<\/p>\n
Watching with Gino at his loft on race day is seeing a true pigeon fancier doing what he loves. \u00a0He plays to win, and during the season it\u2019s all hard work and dedication \u2026 that\u2019s why he gets the results he has.\u00a0 He\u2019s not a small player, but Gino knows his team \u2026 calling out the ring number before his son Jasper even has chance to confirm it \u2026 that\u2019s a gift.\u00a0 It\u2019s a real family affair at the Clicque loft, with daughter Laura helping in the loft every day.<\/p>\n
New introductions to my loft are always based on results but, just as important is the fancier themselves … Gino is a dedicated player who I have known for years, and raced against \u2026 it\u2019s as much about the relationship as much as the birds.\u00a0 I can\u2019t wait to see how these lines perform in UK racing.<\/p>\n

Her descendants have won amongst others: 2nd Nat. Limoges 9,218 b (granddaughter), 1st Prov. Bourges 4,705 b + 6th Nat. against 23,847 pigeons (grandson), 1st Prov. Ace Pigeon KBDB Middle Distance 2022 in East Flanders.\u00a0 First Lady herself was also an exceptional racer with a fantastic results list, as she won the title\u00a01st National Ace Pigeon KBDB Middle Distance with a coefficient of 0,58%…<\/strong><\/p>\n Each year, the Clicque household receives countless references of top results achieved in other lofts. \u00a0Several youngsters are placed on different lofts around Belgium each year, which result in some noteworthy references, also in 2022: at\u00a0Thibaut-Boons; <\/strong>winner of the title Long Distance Champion of Belgium on the long distance with 1+2 nominated is won for 50% by direct Clicque pigeons. \u00a0This combination also won a handful of national ace pigeon titles with their Clicque pigeons! \u00a0Annemie Vanhee<\/strong>\u00a0won 1st National Tulle with a 100% Clicque pigeon.\u00a0 Paul Gevaert\u00a0<\/strong>won 1st Prov.
